Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on state guarantees for those awarded the Cross of Combat Merit
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law establishing state guarantees for military personnel awarded the Cross of Combat Merit.
The law provides for monthly payments in the amount of one and a half of the minimum wage for persons honored with this award. It also guarantees a free burial with military honors and the possibility of an honorable burial at the National War Memorial Cemetery.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 13570 on September 3. He recognizes military personnel who have been awarded the “Cross of Combat Merit” as persons with special services to the Motherland.
We would like to remind you that the presidential award “Cross of Combat Merit” was introduced by the decree of May 5, 2022. It honors servicemen of the Armed Forces and other military formations for special bravery, heroism in battle, successful management of units in conditions of danger and direct contact with the enemy.
“ Cross of Combat Merit” is considered the highest of all military awards. As of today, 331 Ukrainian defenders have been awarded this award, and one of them received it twice.
