Will Ukrainian companies return from Poland after the war?
Only last year, Ukrainians registered more than 3,000 enterprises in Poland. This is 10% of the total number of companies and FOPs in the country that went through the registration procedure for the year. Some of the Ukrainian enterprises in Poland are new businesses, the rest are companies that moved due to the war.
Most often, Ukrainian companies are registered in Warsaw. 9,406 enterprises founded by our fellow citizens appeared in the capital of Poland last year. Krakow (2,661 companies per year) and Wroclaw (2,128) are also popular among Ukrainian business representatives.
Only half of Ukrainian business representatives in Poland are ready to return to the Motherland after the end of hostilities. This is evidenced by the results of a study conducted by the Polish government. In addition, almost 60% of startups in Ukraine that want to go abroad plan to relocate to Poland.
“The Polish government does not see a problem in the fact that after the end of the great war, there will be an outflow of Ukrainian specialists from our market. Ukrainians have acquired skills in Poland that they will use to rebuild their country,” said the Minister of Digitization of the neighboring country Krzysztof Havkowski.
Mr. Havkovsky emphasized that Ukrainian business in Poland currently has the same range of rights and prospects as the local one.
“Ukrainians who want to start their own business have the same opportunities as Poles. They can apply for any kind of financing, just like local specialists,” the Minister of Digitalization assured.
