Zelensky changed the composition of the National Security and Defense Council

On September 13, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, made changes in the composition of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), reflecting the latest personnel reshuffles in the government. Appropriate Decree No. 627 was published on the website of the Office of the President.
Newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga and Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin were included in the updated composition of the National Security Council. In addition, Olga Stefanishyna, who holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and is also the Minister of Justice, joined the Council.
In turn, Oleksandr Kamyshin and Dmytro Kuleba were excluded from the NSDC.
On September 5, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a decision on the resignation of several key ministers, including Dmytro Kuleba from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Iryna Vereshchuk, who held the position of Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories. The head of the State Property Fund, Vitaliy Koval, was also dismissed, and on the same day, he was appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy. His candidacy was supported by 251 people’s deputies.
Among the new appointments: Andrii Sybiga, who was supported by 258 deputies for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Olga Stefanishyna, who received the support of 253 parliamentarians for the position of Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – Minister of Justice.
Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, was appointed Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development. His candidacy was supported by 240 deputies.
Svitlana Grynchuk was appointed Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, her candidacy was supported by 246 People’s Deputies.
Matvii Bidnyi became the Minister of Youth and Sports after the support of 239 deputies, before that he performed the duties of the Minister.
Mykola Tochytskyi, a diplomat, was appointed Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine — 252 people’s deputies voted for him.
Nataliya Kalmykova was appointed to the position of Minister of Veteran Affairs, 240 deputies voted for her candidacy.
Herman Smetanin, the head of Ukroboronprom, was approved as Minister of Strategic Industries. His candidacy was supported by 247 deputies.
