In the de-occupied areas of the Kherson region, sappers demined 78% of the fields

In the liberated territories of the Kherson region, sappers cleared 397,000 hectares of fields from explosive objects, which is 78% of the total area. About this reported Oleksandr Prokudin, head of OVA.
Last year, sappers surveyed approximately 258,000 hectares on the right bank of the Kherson region, exceeding the planned volume of 240,000. In total, about 433,000 hectares have been demined to date, which corresponds to 63% of the total area of the de-occupied territories.
“At first we were told that demining the right bank would take tens of years at best, or even a century. We significantly exceeded these forecasts, and currently Kherson Oblast is the leader in Ukraine in demining rates.” – noted Prokudin.
In the cleared territories, sappers neutralized more than 224,000 mines, streamers, unexploded ammunition and other explosive objects. Special attention is paid to agricultural land, and 78% of the fields have already been cleared.
