President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the work of the Air Force in certain regions of Ukraine needs to be urgently strengthened. During a daily selector meeting with the commander of the Air Force and the Minister of Defense, he discussed solutions that need to be implemented immediately to increase the effectiveness of destroying kamikaze drones of the Shahed type.
“Held a daily selector. “Today there were reports on the situation in Kyiv and the region, in Kharkiv, Poltava, Kropyvnytskyi and the region, also in Vinnytsia region, Dnipro region, Zaporizhia, communities on the border with Russia and near the front,” he noted.
According to the head of state, the situation in Kyiv remains difficult – more than 1,200 houses in different districts of the capital are still without heating. For an operational analysis of the needs of residents and communities in real time, he instructed to more actively involve digital tools.
Separately, during the meeting, the head of Ukrzaliznytsia informed about the consequences of strikes on the logistics infrastructure.
“Such strikes did not stop for a single day, and during this January a significant increase in Russian strikes on the railway was recorded. I am grateful to all railway workers for the prompt restoration and preservation of the railway’s operation,” the President emphasized.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the involvement of the necessary forces for restoration work, as well as to ensure the operation of support and heating points. The Minister of Energy informed about the schedule of launching cogeneration facilities, which should strengthen the energy sustainability of the regions. In turn, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported on the implementation of government programs to support the population, in particular the “Heat Package” initiative, which is planned to be scaled up.
