Zelensky plans meeting with Trump in Davos: Axios

President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to arrive in Switzerland on January 22 to participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he plans to meet with US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Axios, citing a Ukrainian official.

According to the publication, the talks in Davos are to take place in parallel with the visit of White House representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow, where they plan to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both contacts, according to Axios, will concern the discussion of the so-called US “peace plan” to end the war in Ukraine.

As the publication notes, the United States is already “close to an agreement” with Ukraine on the points of this plan, while Russia has not publicly agreed to the proposed 20-point format. This, according to Axios, was one of the reasons why the White House did not sign the “prosperity plan” for Ukraine during the Davos forum.

Earlier during his speech, Donald Trump said that he would meet with Volodymyr Zelensky in Davos and called Wednesday the day of negotiations. At the same time, Advisor to the President of Ukraine Dmytro Lytvyn clarified to journalists that as of 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the head of state was in Kyiv. Back on January 20, Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that a trip to negotiations with the American side in Davos was possible only if there were concrete results.
