Zelenskyy accuses the West of delaying reaction to DPRK’s deployment of troops in Russia
Ukraine, like the world, is now watching every place where Russia deploys North Korean military, but instead of receiving the necessary long-range weapons, our partners are only looking at it. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He noted that with full information about the locations where Russia trains DPRK soldiers, Ukraine could have launched preemptive strikes.
‘If we had this opportunity, we would strike long enough. And it depends on our partners. But instead of the long-range capability we need, America is watching, Britain is watching, Germany is watching. Everyone is just waiting for the North Korean military to start striking at Ukrainians,’ Zelenskyy said.
The President stressed that everyone who seeks to stop the expansion of the war must not only observe but also act.
‘We must act. It is necessary that the words about the inadmissibility of escalation and expansion of the war coincide with actions,” Zelenskyy concluded.
As a reminder, since the beginning of October, the DPRK has started sending its troops to Russia. According to Ukrainian intelligence, more than 10,000 North Korean troops were spotted in Russia last week.
On 31 October, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that about 8,000 of these troops are currently stationed in the Kursk region. Although they are not yet involved in hostilities, the situation may change in the near future.
Earlier, Zelenskyy noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is testing the West’s reaction to the presence of DPRK troops in Russia. If the response is weak, the number of DPRK troops in Russia may increase.
