Zelenskyy appointed Valeriy Vavryniuk acting head of the State Service of Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed First Deputy Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Valeriy Vavrynyuk as Acting Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

The corresponding decision is enshrined in Decree No. 10/2026, which was published on the website of the Office of the President. The document states that Valeriy Vavrynyuk will temporarily act as the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

At the same time, another decree appeared on the State Border Service website, according to which Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Serhiy Deinek from the post of head of the department.

As reported on the official website of the border service, Valeriy Vavrynyuk has held the position of first deputy head of the State Border Service since October 20, 2025. It is also known that Serhiy Deinek was appointed advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Previously, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the planned appointment of a new head of the State Border Service in the near future, and also announced changes in the leadership of individual ministries and a reboot of the entire law enforcement system.
