Ukraine is ready for negotiations with the EU on all six clusters

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the negotiating positions on accession to the European Union under Clusters 4 and 5, which means the state’s readiness to begin negotiations with the EU under all six clusters. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.

The adopted documents will form the basis for further assessment of Ukraine’s fulfillment of the criteria for membership in the European Union. The negotiating positions were formed taking into account the results of the screening of Ukrainian legislation for compliance with EU law conducted by the European Commission.

Cluster 4 covers issues of transport, energy, trans-European networks, environment and climate policy. Cluster 5 concerns the agricultural sector, rural development, food security, veterinary and phytosanitary policy, as well as fisheries, regional development and financial and budgetary provisions.

It was previously reported that Ukraine plans to complete negotiations on accession to the European Union by the end of 2026. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that from a technical point of view, the state is ready to open all six negotiation clusters by the end of this year.
