Zelenskyy signed a law on the employment of people with disabilities

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed European integration law No. 4219-IX, which is aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for people with disabilities in the labor market and providing them with systemic support. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Social Policy.

The document implements the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in particular, expands employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, including state bodies and local self-government. The provision of social support services during employment, the possibility of receiving the help of a personal assistant or a sign language interpreter is also provided for.

In addition, a targeted contribution to the employment support fund for persons with disabilities is introduced as an alternative to fines for non-compliance with employment standards. Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich emphasized that this law is an important step towards creating real opportunities for people with disabilities in the open labor market.

“Enterprises will be able to implement a full cycle of support: from employment to creating favorable conditions that take into account the interests of all parties, as well as accompanying people with disabilities in the workplace. This brings us closer to European standards.”, — Oksana Zholnovich explained.
