“3000 km across Ukraine”: passengers issued more than 80 thousand tickets in a month

During the first month of the “3000 km Ukraine” program, Ukrainians used their kilometers, exchanging them for about 80 thousand railway tickets. This was reported by the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

Half a million users of the “Ukrzaliznytsia” application have already joined the program.

“At the first stage, the program applies to trains running to and from front-line regions. Families with children, the elderly, volunteers, families of military personnel and others were able to use it, Kuleba noted.

The most popular routes in December: No. 101/102 Kherson – Barvinkove, No. 52/51 Odesa – Zaporizhia, No. 143/144 Sumy – Rakhiv and No. 88 Zaporizhia – Kovel. In total, program participants traveled 38 million kilometers.

The minister also announced expansion plans:

“During off-peak periods, “Ukrzaliznytsia” will offer up to 250 thousand seats per month. This will make travel more affordable for passengers for whom price is a key factor”.

The program launched in early December and is operating in test mode, offering free seats in reserved seats, compartment cars, regional trains and 2nd class Intercity for those traveling during off-peak periods.
