The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports has introduced additional admission to higher education institutions for Ukrainians who have graduated from Polish schools
In Ukraine, additional admission to institutions of higher education was introduced for citizens who completed their studies in schools or colleges in Poland and passed the “matriculation” exam. (examin maturalny). Such entrants will be able to study only on a contractual basis with the possibility of receiving an educational grant, reported Ministry of Education and Science.
The department noted that such a decision was made in response to the new admission rules for foreign students in Poland. At the end of August, the requirements were tightened there: now applicants must confirm knowledge of the language of study at a level not lower than B2.
“After changing the conditions for admission of foreigners to Polish universities, we offer Ukrainians an alternative – without wasting time and opportunities”, explained Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi.
Ukrainians who have a valid “matriculation certificate” from at least four subjects, among which the Polish language and mathematics are mandatory, and the rest are optional. The results of the exam will be converted into a scale from 100 to 200 points in accordance with the tables approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Applications for admission must be submitted directly to the selected universities, including remotely. The universities will determine the deadlines independently, but the enrollment of students must take place no later than October 20.
