450 million euros will be allocated for housing for veterans and their families
One of the main issues currently on the agenda of the Ministry of Veterans is ensuring access to housing for war veterans and family members of fallen Defenders of Ukraine. Over the next four years, 450 million euros will be allocated to this. Funds will be allocated from the fund of the EU Ukraine Facility program.
Acting Minister of Veteran Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Porhun announced this during his visit to Luxembourg. The head of the ministry arrived there on a working visit – at the technology conference The International Tech Pulse, Ukraine presented technologies and electronic services developed for veterans and active military personnel.
“At the international IT conference The International Tech Pulse, we are talking about the digitization of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the development of technologies for veterans even more. Digitalization is an important and effective tool for the system of transition from military service to civilian life. And as part of the commitments to on the way to the EU, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs will implement relevant reforms in the field of veteran policy”, Oleksandr Porhun said.
Among the new technological services – veteran’s electronic ID, which became available in the Action app this month. The list of those who can upload an electronic document in the application includes:
- participants in hostilities;
- people with war-related disabilities;
- participants in the war;
- injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity;
- family members of deceased war veterans;
- family members of fallen defenders of Ukraine.
It will be recalled that Luxembourg became one of the first countries that provided lethal weapons to Ukraine. Luxembourg allocated 16% of its defense budget to help our country.
