5 underground schools are being built in the Zaporizhzhia region
In April, the government decided to allocate funds for the construction or repair of shelters in schools in the border and frontline regions. In total, the Cabinet of Ministers approved 57 projects. 8 of them are already under construction. This year, 2.5 billion hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for the construction of storage facilities in educational institutions.
In particular, 5 underground schools are currently being built in the Zaporizhzhia region. The construction of shelters is also ongoing in two schools in the Dnipropetrovsk region and in one school in the Sumy region.
“All 5 shelter projects in the Zaporizhia region, which are financed by the subvention, were developed on the basis of reuse projects on the My Fortress platform. The shelters are built as underground schools. Four of them provide for the simultaneous stay of 460 students and 40 workers. Another shelter is designed for 200 people”, – informed the Ministry of Education and Science.
In April, the commission of the Ministry of Education and Science selected 57 projects, for 50 of which the government has already approved the allocation of funds to local budgets. Currently, communities are using these funds, announcing tenders, and some have already started construction work.
As part of the implementation of the proposed projects, it has already been possible to:
- to announce tenders for the construction or reconstruction of 26 objects;
- conduct 24 tenders;
- sign contracts with contractors for 22 objects;
