5G with speeds up to 1 Gbps is already available to subscribers in one of the cities
In Lviv, for the first time in Ukraine, a fifth-generation mobile network has been launched. 5G with a maximum data transfer speed of up to 1 Gbit/s was launched in the city. The launch of the new technology was announced by Stanislav Prybytko, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Infrastructure Development.
According to him, 20 base stations have already been installed in Lviv, which are currently operating in test mode. The network operates on Vodafone infrastructure, and the project itself is planned to be scaled up in the near future. In the future, 5G launch is also expected in Borodyanka in the Kyiv region and in Kharkiv.
5G technology is the fifth generation of mobile communications and provides significantly higher data transfer speeds compared to 4G. It allows you to connect a larger number of devices within one network and opens up new opportunities for direct interaction between them. Lviv became the first Ukrainian city where this technology became available.
