A civilian ship blew up in the sea near Odessa

A civilian ship blew up in the Black Sea near the coast of Odessa. This was reported by the spokesman of the Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk.

According to him, the ship encountered an unidentified explosive device. None of the crew was injured. The vessel is currently being inspected and there is a possibility that it will be able to continue on its own.

“We are doing everything necessary to ensure that civil shipping is as safe as possible. However, despite this, sometimes similar incidents can take place, Pletenchuk noted.

This is the cargo ship NS PRIDE under the flag of Belize. A part of the Shahed shot down the day before, which did not explode, detonated under the ship. This is not the first case of detonation of dangerous objects in the Black Sea. In August, two explosions occurred on the beaches of the Odesa region, in particular in the resort Zatoka. Three vacationers became the victims of these events.

Let us remind you that at the end of July, an explosion occurred on a Ukrainian ship at the mouth of the Danube. There were 11 crew members on board who were performing scheduled work. As a result of the incident, three employees of the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine died.
