A group of Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been created in Ukraine
The Armed Forces of Ukraine officially formed the Unmanned Systems Forces group. The new formation unites all military units of the SBS and units of the “Drone Lines” project. About this reported in the Forces of unmanned systems.
“For the purpose of increasing the efficiency of management, transformation of the Forces and adaptation to the requirements of modern warfare, a grouping of the Forces of Unmanned Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was created”, – the message says.
The units will operate within a single management vertical — with a defined structure, clear interaction and a common vision of UAV deployment tactics. This will make it possible to coordinate approaches, establish joint work and more effectively apply unmanned systems in combat conditions. Most units of the new group are already successfully performing combat tasks. Commander of the SBS Robert Brovdi (call sign “Magyar”) was appointed commander of the formation.
“This is one of the key stages in the implementation of the 100-day plan for the development of the SBS. This decision lays the foundation for the large-scale, systematic use of unmanned systems in modern warfare.” – SBS explained.
The Unmanned Systems Forces recently underwent a leadership change: on June 3, instead of Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, Major Robert “Magyar” Brovdi became the commander. A businessman in the past, Brovdi created a small unit of UAV operators at the beginning of a full-scale war, which eventually grew into a full-fledged brigade.
One of the first statements of the new commander was the announcement of a large-scale reform, which he plans to implement during his first 100 days in office. Its purpose is to provide a technological advantage on the battlefield and increase the effectiveness of the SBS.
