Unidentified persons set fire to Ukrposhta office in Kyiv due to delivery of mobilisation notices
In Kyiv, two branches of “Ukrposhta” were set on fire, which is probably related to the distribution of mobilization summonses, which are delivered by postmen from territorial collection centers (TCC). The writer Andriy Kokotyukha reported on this incident in his posts у Facebook.
“Our Ukrposhta branch was set on fire. They poured fuel oil on the door and set it on fire. At the same time, another branch in the district was also on fire. They told me at the post office: this is because the post office carries summonses from the TCC. I don’t know how the postmen found out about it. Maybe there was some warning. Perhaps one of the versions. But as long as the post office did not carry the summons, there really were no arsons“, Kokotyukha noted.
He also noted that there were no such incidents before, until “Ukrposhta” started distributing summonses.
Kokotyukha expressed concern that “Ukrposhta” could become a new target for arson, as has already happened with the cars of military personnel. According to the writer, post office workers at the scene of the incident linked the arson to mobilization mailings. Along with this, the writer noted the increase in cases of damage to infrastructure and military vehicles, in particular to railway facilities, emphasizing that even rear cities can no longer feel fully protected due to the possible activity of enemy agents and nighttime drone attacks.
At this moment, “Ukrposhta” and law enforcement agencies have not yet commented on the incident.
