A large-scale network of child pornography sites was exposed in Ukraine

Ukrainian law enforcement officers have exposed two individuals who administered an underground network of websites with child pornography and have informed them of their suspicions. This was announced by the Prosecutor General’s Office and National Police of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the defendants created and supported about a thousand Internet resources on which content with sexual exploitation of children was posted. The main organizer, a resident of Lviv, rented server equipment and managed its operation for the purpose of making a profit.

Law enforcement officers conducted searches at his place of residence and in his car, seizing computer equipment, data carriers, cash and a vehicle that contained traces of illegal activity. During the analysis of the data, an accomplice was identified who lived in the Kyiv region.

“During the authorized searches, computer equipment, data carriers, crypto wallets, draft records, cash and vehicles were seized. About a thousand online resources used to distribute prohibited content were neutralized, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

One ​​of the suspects was detained and a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen. He was notified of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 27 and Parts 1 and 3 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Another was put on the international wanted list and was notified in absentia of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 301-1 (for gaining access to child pornography, its storage, transportation, production and distribution).

The suspects face up to twelve years in prison. Measures are currently underway to identify other persons involved in the crime.
