A large-scale scheme of illegal crossing the border with the participation of a law enforcement officer was exposed in Odesa (video)
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service exposed an organized group in Odesa that was engaged in illegal smuggling of people across the state border. The group included a law enforcement officer who advised drivers on bypassing roadblocks.

The organizer of the scheme, a resident of the Odesa region, looked for clients through social networks and organized their transportation to the border, which they crossed on foot. The cost of “services” ranged from 5 to 18.5 thousand US dollars per person.
“The “business” was organized by a resident of Odesa region in May 2024. He looked for men who wanted to leave Ukraine illegally through social networks and negotiated payment. The men were taken to the state border, which they later crossed on foot. The law enforcement officer advised drivers how to bypass roadblocks on the way to the border“, the message states.

On June 21, 2024, law enforcement officers documented an attempt to smuggle about 100 people and detained members of the group. They were notified of the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (organization of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine).
The organizer and the law enforcement officer were remanded in custody with the right to post bail.
All arrested evaders over 25 years of age were issued protocols and delivered to the district territorial recruitment and social support centers (RTCC).
The investigation continues, the full range of persons involved in the criminal scheme is being established.
