A meeting between the delegations of Ukraine and the United States ended in Saudi Arabia
The meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and the USA ended in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. About this reported Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov.
According to him, the discussion was productive and aimed at concrete results – the parties discussed key issues, in particular in the field of energy.
“We finished the meeting with the American team. The conversation was constructive and meaningful – we discussed key issues, in particular in the energy sector. The task of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, is to achieve a decent and lasting peace for our state and people, and therefore for the whole of Europe. We are working to make this a reality.”, – Umerov noted.
We will remind that on March 11, negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the USA took place in Saudi Arabia. According to their results, Ukraine declared its readiness to accept the US proposal for the immediate introduction of a temporary 30-day ceasefire.
On March 18, Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin. The American president said that they discussed key aspects of the peace treaty, as well as the issue of an immediate end to attacks on energy infrastructure.
On March 19, Trump spoke by phone with Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The President of Ukraine emphasized that he supports the cessation of strikes on energy facilities, but it must be mutual on the part of Russia. They also agreed to instruct their teams to work out the technical details of the implementation and possible extension of the partial ceasefire regime.
