A military official who sent soldiers to work for his family will be tried according to the materials of the SBI

DBR employees completed a pre-trial investigation into an official of one of the military units in Donetsk region, who used subordinates for his own purposes. Instead of performing military tasks, the soldiers worked for his family, in particular selling street food in the Pokrovsky district. The indictment has already been sent to the court.
The investigation established that for almost two years, the deputy head of the unit forced two servicemen to perform construction and economic work in his household. In addition, they built and serviced a stall selling shawarma, which belonged to the officer’s wife. It was she who actually managed their “service”: she distributed responsibilities and controlled earnings.
In return, the military continued to receive full financial support, including payments for allegedly participating in hostilities. As a result, the state suffered losses in the amount of over 4 million hryvnias.
The officer is charged with abuse of official position and aiding and abetting the evasion of military service by deception, committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 364, Part 5 of Article 27, Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction provides up to 10 years of imprisonment.
Separately, indictments were sent to the court against two servicemen who carried out the illegal orders of their commander. They are accused of evading military service by deception (Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Procedural management in the case is carried out by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Eastern region.
