A new launch of the Oreshnik missile in Ukraine may take place in the coming days

The US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggests that in the coming days Russia may re-launch the new Oreshnik ballistic missile or similar weapons in an attempt to achieve a propaganda effect. In his reports analysts have confirmed that Russian strikes on Ukraine are also being used for test launches.

ISW experts refer to the decision of the Russian authorities to close part of the airspace of the Russian Federation on November 23-24 for tests. However, the exact type of missile that is planned to be tested has not been specified.

“Russia is benefiting from the hype surrounding the Nov. 21 strike and is likely hoping that stoking concern over the Oreshnik missile launch will force the West to scale back its support for Ukraine.”, – ISW representatives note.

In addition, the deputy head of the GUR, Vadym Skibitsky, said that the Russian Federation may have up to 10 Oreshnik missiles and probably plans to test all available samples.

As you know, on November 21, Russia launched a new ballistic missile attack on the Dnipro River, damaging an industrial enterprise. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called this attack another escalation on the part of the Russian Federation. The White House previously warned Ukraine and its partners about the possibility of strikes with an experimental medium-range ballistic missile.

“In recent days, we have been informing Ukrainians and our closest allies and partners to help them prepare.”, – emphasized the spokeswoman of the White House, Karin Jean-Pierre.
