In the Zhytomyr Region, a People’s Deputy of Ukraine hit an 18-year-old girl who was running across the road. The girl died at the scene from her injuries.

“The prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General referred to the court the indictment against the people’s deputy of Ukraine for the fact of violating the rules of traffic safety, which caused the death of the victim (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)”, the message says.
According to investigation materials, on November 3, 2023, at around 10:00 a.m. on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Berezivka, a car driven by a People’s Deputy of Ukraine hit an 18-year-old girl who was running across the road. The investigation established that the deputy violated traffic rules and exceeded the speed limit, which led to the tragedy.
Investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the SBI conducted a pre-trial investigation. The People’s Deputy was indicted under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules that caused the victim’s death).
