A permanent representation of the European Parliament will be opened in Kyiv
The Chairman of the European Parliament, Roberta Metzola, announced the opening of a permanent representative office of this institution in Kyiv. She made this statement during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada on September 17.
“We are opening a permanent representation of the European Parliament here in Kyiv so that we are present in Ukraine and work with you, next to you every day. This was our commitment to you and we are fulfilling it, said Metzola.
She emphasized that the European Parliament will continue to stand by Ukraine at every stage until peace is achieved and freedom is restored “and until Ukraine takes its rightful place in our European family”.
“And when peace comes, when this dark chapter is finally closed, we will continue to stand with you as you recover and rebuild. On behalf of all the nations of the European Union, I want to thank you for proving the famous Ukrainian proverb: a brave heart is stronger in two strong hands. As President Zelensky said in March 2022, addressing the European Parliament: light will overcome darkness, life will overcome death. It was true then and remains true today, added the head of the European Parliament.
