A pilot military training course for students and teachers has begun at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy

At the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy started pilot course of military training for students and teachers. The initiative is implemented in cooperation with the Recruiting Center of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is aimed at acquiring basic military skills.
The training program is part of the educational reform, which provides for the mandatory introduction of basic military training for students from September 2025. Currently, participation in training is voluntary, including for teachers. Classes are held every week, covering both theoretical and practical training.
Hands-on training includes weapons training, training in the proper use of body armor, familiarization with the control of unmanned aerial vehicles using simulators, and the basics of tactical medicine.
Starting in September 2025, basic military training will be included in the curriculum for all second-year students. The theoretical part of the course will become mandatory for all applicants for higher education.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense reported that students who refuse to undergo basic military training may be expelled from the educational institution. This decision caused lively discussions in the educational environment and among the student community.
