A powerful explosion occurred in Dnipro: a suspect in a terrorist attack was detained

On Saturday, an explosion occurred in the central district of Dnipro, which shook the city. According to preliminary information, as a result of the incident, one person died, several others were injured, including two police officers. The injured were immediately taken to the hospital, where they are provided with the necessary medical assistance. This information confirmed National Police of Ukraine.

Emergency services, including the investigative and operational team of the police, explosives experts, forensic laboratory experts and other specialized units, quickly arrived at the scene. The area of ​​the explosion was cordoned off, and law enforcement officers were busy collecting evidence and analyzing the situation. Priority measures are aimed at clarifying the causes of the incident and ensuring the safety of local residents.

Eyewitnesses report that the sound of the explosion was extremely loud and was heard even at a considerable distance. People who were nearby immediately called an ambulance and the police. At the time of the explosion, there were passers-by in the area, as well as police officers who, according to preliminary information, were on duty.

“Preliminarily, it is known that the person involved acted on the instructions of the special services of the Russian Federation. As a result of the operational measures, the police, together with the SBU, searched for and detained him in a few hours. He turned out to be a 37-year-old local resident. The detainee faces life imprisonment. Investigations are ongoing.” – the message says.

The representatives of the law enforcement agencies assure that they will do everything possible for the prompt investigation of the incident.

The details of the event will be made public after receiving the results of the work of experts and investigators. The National Police is calling on citizens to provide information if they witnessed the explosion or have any information that could help in the investigation.
