A new training course called “Filter-optic drones. Basics of use” has been launched in the “Army+” application. The program is dedicated to the specifics of FPV drones controlled via a fiber-optic channel and their use in combat conditions, reports the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Fiber-optic drones have high resistance to electronic warfare, but require special training, careful flight planning, and knowledge of technical details from operators. The course was lectured by Vitaly “Soloma”, an engineer of the SIGNUM unmanned systems battalion of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh.

The training program consists of seven consecutive lessons, including an overview of the advantages and limitations of fiber-optic drones, equipment and cable preparation, pre-flight control and preparation for the mission, typical malfunctions and methods for their elimination, flight techniques using a cable, task planning and target engagement tactics, as well as final procedures after the mission.

Interim tests are provided during the training process, and after successfully passing the final exam, students will receive an electronic certificate.

Recall that on October 28, in “Army+” A basic course on the DELTA combat system has been launched, which introduces the operation of the combat ecosystem, which helps the Defense Forces form a complete picture of the battlefield, plan operations and coordinate units.
