Military servicemen who are being treated abroad were allowed to undergo VLC remotely
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the initiative of the Ministry of Defense to launch an experimental project that will allow servicemen undergoing long-term treatment abroad to pass the military medical commission (MMC) remotely.
The goal of the project is to improve the mechanism of conducting the VLC for Ukrainian defenders who have been receiving treatment for more than 12 months and cannot come to the commission in Ukraine due to their health. The effect of the experiment extends to all servicemen of the Defense and Security Forces, as well as to representatives of civil defense and the police, who suffered as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
In order to undergo a remote VLK, a serviceman or his legal representative must submit copies of medical documents of a foreign medical institution to his commander (or another authorized person). Documents must be certified and translated into Ukrainian, as well as contain a diagnosis in accordance with the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10 or ICD-11).
The military unit forwards these documents together with the referral to the military medical commission, which within 10 days makes a decision on suitability or unfitness for service and issues a corresponding certificate. It is sent to the commander of the military unit.
At the same time, if a fighter has already passed a remote VLK, after returning to Ukraine, he is not required to undergo a second medical examination. The resolution also approved a list of diseases and conditions that give the right to pass such a remote commission.
