After the introduction of limits, card transfers in Ukraine decreased by UAH 80 billion per month

After the introduction of restrictions on transfers of funds between bank cards, the volume of such transactions in Ukraine decreased by 80 billion hryvnias per month. About this reported Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Dmytro Oliynyk.

According to him, before the limits were established, the monthly volume of card transfers reached about 250 billion hryvnias. After the introduction of restrictions, this amount decreased to 170 billion.

At the same time, the NBU is working on the launch of a special register of persons who provide their bank accounts for carrying out suspicious transactions – the so-called “drops”. The relevant draft law will soon be sent to the specialized committee of the Verkhovna Rada for consideration.

As Oliinyk noted, the register will be able to start working at least six months after the adoption of legislative changes. Admission to it will not be lifelong – the person will be able to go through the exclusion procedure. Those who will be included in the list are subject to increased restrictions on financial transactions.

We will remind that at the beginning of April, the National Bank decided not to extend the limit of 150,000 hryvnias per month for P2P transfers between the accounts of individuals opened in one bank to the accounts of other individuals.
