A new electronic system will be launched in Ukraine this year, in which manufacturers and importers will enter complete information about each cosmetic product. This was reported by Oleksandr Yemets, head of SE “Electronic Health”.
“The system of electronic notification of information about cosmetic products – is a European integration requirement and a step towards building a transparent and safe cosmetics market in Ukraine according to European standards. We are bringing our registers and systems under the standards of the European Union. This will make it easier for Ukrainian cosmetics manufacturers to enter the European market, because they will be standardized in accordance with the requirements and rules of the EU”, – Yemets explained.
He added that earlier in Ukraine there was no single database where information about all cosmetics on the market was accumulated. In particular, creams, shampoos, lipsticks and other products ended up on store shelves without centralized accounting, which made it difficult to control the quality and safety of products.
According to Yemets, after the launch of the system of electronic notification of information about cosmetic products, a kind of “electronic passport” will be created for each cosmetic product. Manufacturers will be required to enter each of their products into this system before it reaches the consumer. In the future, medical institutions will also be provided with information about the presence of ingredients in a cosmetic product that may cause a negative or allergic reaction.
