An official of the Ministry of Defense was exposed in a corruption scheme with a postponement of mobilization

In Lviv, law enforcement exposed the lieutenant colonel of justice of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in a corruption scheme related to postponement of mobilization and illegal travel abroad.
Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region and with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense, the fact of receiving an illegal benefit by the deputy head of one of the departments of the ministry was documented.
The investigation established that the lieutenant colonel of justice received 12,000 US dollars from an intermediary for illegally organizing the transportation of a conscript across the state border. He had to provide the necessary documents and remove all obstacles to this.
In addition, for an additional reward of more than 4.5 thousand US dollars, the officer took down the “client” in search of a territorial recruitment and social support center and issued a fictitious deferment from mobilization, allegedly due to caring for a disabled relative. This was supposed to create the appearance of legal grounds for departure to EU countries.
The law enforcement officers recorded that he first received 4.5 thousand dollars, and later 12 thousand dollars. After receiving the second part of the bribe, the serviceman was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. Currently, other alleged participants in the scheme are being established.
A notice of suspicion is being prepared for the detainee under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (organization of illegal transportation of persons across the state border) and a petition to the court for the selection of a preventive measure and removal from office. The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the National Police Directorate in Lviv Region based on the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine in Lviv Region.
