The Ministry of Energy has launched a map of optimal charging points for electric vehicles
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced the launch of an interactive map that determines the optimal places for installing charging stations for electric vehicles. This tool should contribute to the faster development of the national network of charging points and the integration of Ukraine into the European transport system.
The new map will help to more efficiently plan the placement of stations, especially on roads of international importance, where the distance between them exceeds 40 kilometers. When creating the map, the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2023/1804 of the European Parliament and the Council of September 13, 2023 on the development of infrastructure for alternative fuels, which replaced Directive 2014/94/EU, were taken into account.
The project was implemented in cooperation with operators of the electricity distribution system and experts in the field of electric mobility. The platform provides detailed information about potential locations, including data on available network capacity for connecting new charging complexes.
“The development of charging infrastructure is one of the ministry’s priority areas of work, primarily in the context of strengthening energy security and reducing dependence on imported energy carriers”, the Ministry of Energy said.
The initiative corresponds to the state policy in the field of energy. Measures for the development of electric mobility are laid down in the National Plan of Action on Renewable Energy until 2030, the National Plan on Energy and Climate, as well as in the Sustainable Development Goals.
