The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak reported that law enforcement officers detained a group of fraudsters who were trying to steal $100,000 under his name.
“I just learned from the police that they caught a group of fraudsters “red-handed”. It was headed by a certain Yermak D.S., who called himself my cousin. Of course, this is a fraudulent fabrication. Using such a legend, he tried to extort $100,000 for allegedly arranging someone for a high position in the Office of the President. I am sure that the criminals will receive a fair punishment, ”Yermak’s statement said.
Let us recall that in 2020, there was already a scandal in Ukraine with similar circumstances related to Andriy Yermak’s real brother, Denis. The then MP Geo Leros (at that time a member of the Servant of the People faction) published a video where Denys Yermak allegedly discussed appointments to government positions.
In response, the head of the OP Andriy Yermak appealed to the SBU and the State Bureau of Investigation to investigate the origin of the video and accused Leros of revenge due to the thwarted personnel appointment. Denys Yermak himself then stated that the published recordings were ”cuts taken out of context.”
