Andriy Yermak filed an appeal against the preventive measure

On May 21, the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court will consider the complaint of the lawyers of the former head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak against the preventive measure, which was imposed on May 14 elected by the investigating judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine.

The hearing is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. on May 21. It is to be held in the premises of the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine in Kyiv at 4 Khrestovoi Lane. The court will consider the defense attorney’s appeal against the ruling of the investigating judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of Ukraine dated May 14, 2026. The High Court of Cassation warned that due to the limited number of seats in the hall, media representatives should arrive early.

The court’s press service also reminded that photo and video shooting, as well as live broadcast of the session are allowed only after the relevant court decision and permission of the presiding judge.

“The very fact of filing a petition, presence in the courtroom, or the open nature of the trial do not automatically grant the right to conduct a live broadcast.

A petition for the broadcast of a court session, signed with a qualified electronic signature, may be sent to the official email address of the Appellate Chamber,” the court emphasized.

On May 19, Andriy Yermak’s lawyer Igor Fomin stated on Radio Liberty that the defense had already filed an appeal against the preventive measure, but in an abbreviated form, “since we do not have a reasoned decision.”

According to Fomin, the lawyers had not yet substantiated their claims, because at that time they did not know what motives the court was guided by when making the decision. He also said that he sees no reason to apply any preventive measure to Yermak.

Commenting on the prosecution’s argument that Yermak has four foreign passports and could flee, the lawyer replied: “He may flee, or he may not flee.”
