Finland plans to allocate more than 20 million euros for the development of Ukrainian education

Finland will allocate 20.5 million euros to support education reform in Ukraine. About this reported Minister of Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Wille Tavio during the European Regional Forum on School Meals held in Kyiv. Funding will be directed to the implementation of the educational reform, which will last from 2025 to 2028.

“The Government of Finland is one of the key partners in the education reform starting in 2018. We have many joint programs aimed at strengthening the social protection of male and female students, as well as providing them with psychosocial support. I am grateful to the partners for the contribution they make in supporting and reforming education”, — noted the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi.

In addition, Finland will provide 500,000 euros in support of the school feeding program of the World Food Program (WFP). This year, the Finnish side has already financed more than 5.6 million hot lunches for about 90,000 primary school students in almost 700 schools in Ukraine.

The cooperation project for the implementation of educational reform was developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with representatives of Finland and the Finnish National Agency for Education.

“Finland continues to provide strong and comprehensive support to Ukraine, which makes it possible to meet both the immediate and long-term needs of the country. The recovery of Ukraine is a large-scale process, and Finnish companies have significant potential to participate in the recovery through a variety of financial instruments.”, – emphasized the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Wille Tavio.
