In 1999, the Columbine tragedy happened – a school shooting that shocked not only the United States, but the whole world, causing discussion of the problem of youth violence and access to weapons. That day, two students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, staged a bloody rampage at their school. They killed 12 students and one teacher and wounded 24 others before committing suicide. It was one of the deadliest school attacks in US history.

In 1979, while fishing on a boat with US President Jimmy Carter, there was an incident that was later called the “killer rabbit attack” by the press. The president then said: “The rabbit was running away from being chased by hounds, so he jumped into the water and swam to the boat. He hissed menacingly, gnashed his teeth and tried to climb into the boat. When the rabbit almost reached the place, I slapped it a little with the paddle, after which the animal turned in the opposite direction and crawled out of the pond. And so, probably, this incident would have remained only a presidential fable, if not for a photographer from the White House who captured this moment.
