On the night of June 11, Russian troops carried out massive strikes with kamikaze drones on residential areas of Kharkiv. Slobidsky and Osnovyansky districts of the city came under fire. Preliminary reports indicate two dead and at least 60 injured. Among the injured are five children. About this informs Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov.
“From 00:31 to 00:40, the enemy struck with 17 Shahed attack drones in two districts of Kharkiv – Slobidskyi and Osnovyanskyi. There are direct hits in high-rise buildings, private homes, playgrounds, businesses and public transport. Burning apartments, destroyed roofs, burned out cars, broken windows. We have 2 dead and 60 injured. injured, including 5 children. Several people were rescued from the houses engulfed in fire.” – says the message.
Fires broke out in the Slobid and Osnovyan districts. Rescuers, police, medics and communal services are working on the ground. Rescue work, evacuation of residents and liquidation of the consequences are being carried out.
Trolleybuses, contact network, utility and industrial infrastructure facilities were damaged. These are ordinary objects of peaceful life that should not become a target. Communal and emergency services, as well as volunteers, continuously eliminate the consequences, provide assistance to the victims, and restore gas, electricity, and water supplies.
The head of the regional prosecutor’s office, Spartak Borysenko, clarified that, in addition to residential buildings, municipal utilities and industrial facilities were damaged in Kharkiv. According to his information, the Russian Federation carried out strikes by Geran-2 type UAVs. Russian attacks at night covered nine locations in the Osnovyansk and Slobidsk districts of Kharkiv. Nine people, including a 2-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital.
