At the end of spring, “Diya” will launch a new online divorce service
At the end of spring, the “Diya” application plans to start testing an online divorce service. Only those spouses who do not have minor children in common will be able to use it. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Zoryana Stetsyuk.
The necessary regulatory framework has already been prepared to launch the service, and the government has adopted a corresponding resolution. The technical development of the service should be completed by the end of spring, after which beta testing will begin. It is also noted that initially the main attention was focused on launching an online marriage. At the same time, there was a significant request for the ability to issue a divorce remotely.
“There is a stage of the proposal, the submission of an application by the couple, and the actual marriage ceremony, when the couple connects to a video conference via “Diya”, a registrar awaits the lovers in the virtual wedding hall, who registers the marriage online – instead of a physical signature, an electronic signature is placed on the act record right during the call. The marriage certificate appears in “Diya” and arrives by mail. The process takes 20–30 minutes,” says Stetsyuk.
Previously, the Ministry of Justice also explained how the “eShlyub” service currently works in “Diya” and how digital marriage registration takes place.
