Back to the frontline village: “White Angels” rescued children for the second time, whom their father was hiding from evacuation

The lives of civilians in frontline communities in the Donetsk region have long been defined not by the usual rhythm of peaceful life, but by the constant threat of shelling, drone attacks, and destruction of infrastructure. This danger is especially acute for children who remain in settlements near the frontline, as any shelling or drone strike can pose a mortal threat to them. In a number of communities, mandatory evacuation of families with minors has been introduced, but some families, despite official bans and numerous warnings, are trying to return home or are hiding from evacuation groups, which creates additional risks for both the children themselves and those who are forced to rescue them.

Repeated evacuation of a family from Kindrativka

As reported in the press service of the Donetsk Oblast Police, in the frontline village of Kindrativka of the Druzhkiv community, a police officer The White Angels crew was forced to evacuate a family with two minor boys for the second time.

Law enforcement officers said that about a month ago this family had already been evacuated from a dangerous area where shelling was ongoing due to its proximity to the front. After the evacuation, the family did not stay in a safer place, but returned to their house, using detours to avoid control during the mandatory evacuation.

A father and his two sons, aged 12 and 14, remained in the village. According to law enforcement officers, the man hid the presence of the children, although minors must be evacuated from front-line settlements of the Druzhkivska community. To establish the whereabouts of the children, the police had to virtually comb the entire village, going yard by yard in dangerous conditions, as the area is constantly under threat of shelling and drone attacks.

During this operation, the situation became even more tense: an enemy drone struck near the place where the crew was working. According to the police, the explosion occurred approximately twenty meters from the law enforcement officers who were searching for the family.

Despite the danger, the police managed to find the children with their father and take them out of the village. After the search operation was completed, the family was taken to a safer place, where they were no longer in the immediate threat of hostilities.

Mandatory evacuation that is being ignored

The police remind you that in the Druzhkivska community there is a mandatory evacuation of families with children, as the settlements are located near areas of active hostilities and are regularly shelled.

Despite this, according to official information from law enforcement, minors still remain in the community. According to the latest data, there are eleven children in the frontline settlements of the Druzhkivska community who have not yet been evacuated.

Each such case means the need for new search operations in dangerous conditions, as evacuation groups are forced to return to settlements that are under constant threat of shelling.

Why it is important not to expose children to danger

Police and rescue workers constantly emphasize that leaving children in frontline villages is extremely dangerous, because even a short stay in a combat zone can turn into a tragedy.

In addition to the obvious risk to the lives and health of the children themselves, such decisions create an additional threat to those who are forced to rescue them. During search and evacuation operations, police officers, volunteers, rescuers and medics work in places where shelling or drone strikes can occur at any moment, and therefore actually risk their own lives to take civilians out of dangerous territory.

The evacuation of families with children from frontline settlements is being introduced due to the real danger that people near the combat line face every day. Shelling, drone strikes, and the destruction of residential buildings occur without warning, so children’s stay in such conditions means a constant risk to their lives and health.

Because of this, law enforcement officers are calling on parents to be responsible when evacuating children from frontline areas. Taking minors to safer regions helps protect them from hostilities and at the same time reduces the risk for those who are forced to conduct rescue operations, searching for and removing children from shelling zones.
