Boris Johnson warns of risks of Minsk-3 after German Chancellor’s telephone conversation with Putin

Former Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson expressed a serious warning about possible new attempts to reach agreements with Russia. After a telephone conversation between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Vladimir Putin, Johnson supported the position of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who called such an initiative “Pandora’s box” and said that another agreement like “Minsk-3” will only increase Russia’s impunity.

Commenting of Zelensky’s words in his account on the X social network, Johnson said:

“I’m afraid Zelensky is completely right. We risk returning to the bitter Franco-German-Norman format (the Minsk agreements), which put Ukraine and Russia on the same plane, as if they were equal parties to the conflict. This is a shameful distortion of reality.”

The British politician emphasized that the responsibility for the war lies entirely with Russia, which started this conflict and has been waging it for almost three years. Ukraine is an innocent victim in this war and did not provoke Russia to aggression.

According to Johnson, the only way to end the war is to give Ukraine significant support, making its position strong. “This is the only way to force Moscow to abandon aggression.” – he summarized.
