Britain will transfer 15 innovative Gravehawk air defense systems to Ukraine this year

Great Britain plans to transfer 15 new Gravehawk mobile air defense systems to Ukraine by the end of 2025. These systems are created with the joint financial support of Great Britain and Denmark. This was announced on the website of the British government after Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit to Kyiv.

“The innovative system, the size of a sea container, is capable of modernizing air-to-air missiles for ground-based air defense”, the message says.

As noted by the British government, the Gravehawk system is compatible with missiles already in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the tests that took place in September 2024, two prototypes of the system were successfully tested in Ukraine. In 2025, the country will receive 15 more such installations.

Also, Great Britain intends to transfer 150 artillery barrels to Ukraine in the near future as part of an aid package worth about 2.6 billion dollars. This amount is formed at the expense of interest from frozen Russian assets.
