Forbes published a ranking of the largest foreign companies that continue to work in Russia, and the Chinese company Chery was in first place.
According to the results of 2023, the total revenue of the top 10 foreign companies remaining on the Russian market exceeded 3.3 trillion rubles, an increase of 39% compared to the previous year. The main contribution to this increase was made by Chinese automakers, which actively occupied a niche after the departure of Western corporations.
Chery, represented in Russia through its legal entities Chery Automobili Rus and Jetur Motor Rus, topped the ranking, earning 590.3 billion rubles in 2023. The company’s turnover increased four times over the year, which is a significant achievement against the background of the general situation on the market.
During 2023, Chery sold more than 220,000 cars on the Russian market under the Chery, Exeed, Omoda, Jaecoo and Jetour brands. In 2024, the company’s position is expected to strengthen even more, because in the first half of the year it has already sold more than 144,000 cars, which is 86% more than in the same period last year.
