Children from Mykolaiv Region and Kyiv Region will have a free holiday in Spain

From the end of April to May 17, 25 children from the town of Ochakiv (Mykolaiv Oblast) are being rehabilitated in the Spanish region of Catalonia. The country’s government announced the further implementation of projects to improve the health of Ukrainian children. It’s the turn of schoolchildren from the Kyiv region.
“The representation of the Spanish government in Catalonia, with the support of the mayors of Pineda de Mar, Salou, Calella and local entrepreneurs, and with the assistance of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Barcelona, organized a holiday for 25 children from the city of Ochakiv. During their stay in Catalonia, the children will live free of charge in the hotels of the mentioned cities and will have the opportunity to visit important places of autonomy, such as the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, amusement parks Tibidabu and Port Aventura, the football club “Barcelona”, – reported in Consulate General of Ukraine in Barcelona.
The representative of the Spanish government in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, called on other regions of the country to join the project to improve the health of Ukrainian children.
“It is necessary to give children the opportunity to forget about the horrors of war, at least for a short period of time,” said Mr. Prieto.
During a meeting with young Ukrainians from Ochakiv, Carlos Prieto announced the start of another project, which involves inviting a group of students from one of Kyiv’s schools to Spain for a vacation with an in-depth study of the Spanish language.
Other countries also invite Ukrainian children to recuperate. Already 16 children, who were returned from the Russian Federation as a result of the negotiations, were able to receive treatment and rest in Qatar. This country is currently a mediator in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia regarding the return of forcibly deported children.
“Qatar organized the Recovery and Rehabilitation Program for families. Already the first 16 returned Ukrainian children with parents or guardians had the opportunity to receive a foreign medical examination, psychosocial support, as well as get to know Qatar and the culture of this country,” said the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
