China has created a weapon capable of disabling power plants and power lines (video)

China has developed weapons that can knock out power plants and power lines, causing a “total blackout” in an affected area. About this informs South China Morning Post.

China Central Television (CCTV) has shown a video of a new type of graphite bomb. This weapon is capable of disabling enemy power facilities, which can cause massive power outages.

The bomb is launched from a ground vehicle. After hitting the ground, it scatters 90 cylindrical submunitions that bounce and explode in the air, releasing thin carbon filaments. These threads cause a short circuit in the enemy’s energy networks.

The use of this weapon can lead to “total loss of electricity” in an area of at least 10,000 square meters. The bomb is designed to paralyze enemy command and control systems. It is reported that the warhead weighs about 490 kg, and the maximum flight range reaches 290 km.

At the same time, it is not specified at what stage the development of this weapon is, whether it is in service with the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA) and under what circumstances it can be used.
