China Offers Funding to Countries Left Without USAID Funds

China is offering financial support to countries whose programs have been left without funds after the US Agency for International Development (USAID) was suspended by US President Donald Trump. About this informs Political.
In particular, we are talking about such countries as Nepal, Cambodia and Colombia, which last year received 385 million dollars from USAID. Beijing has already offered these states to compensate for the financial losses caused by the suspension of American humanitarian programs.
Analysts believe that these are the first signs that the elimination of USAID may weaken the position of the USA in the global rivalry with China. Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Guo Jiakun confirmed Beijing’s intentions to support the World Health Organization and promote international governance in this area.
Thus, China, as a strategic competitor of Washington, seeks to expand its influence by financing programs, particularly in the countries of the Global South. Democrats on the China Committee have tried to convince the Trump administration that closing USAID would help strengthen Beijing’s position, but Republicans have continued to refrain from defending the agency.
