Citizens of Ukraine will be able to see who viewed their data in state registers: Ministry of Statistics
Ukrainians will be able to receive notifications in “Diya” about who and for what purpose is reviewing their data in state registers. This was reported in the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The department noted that they will soon launch notifications in “Actions” so that users can see “who and for what” has accessed their information in the registers. The government adopted a resolution that implements a data access monitoring system in the “Trembita” system, which ensures interaction between state registers.
If a Ukrainian’s data will be checked in the registers, he will receive a notification about this in Diya. The Ministry of Statistics explains that every fact of data exchange will be recorded in the system. For example, if a government agency needs your information to provide a service, the employee makes a request in the registry. Trembita will log this request and the user will receive a notification in Actions with all the details.
Notifications about interactions with data will not be made in cases related to criminal investigation, counterintelligence, counter-terrorism or pre-trial investigation.
“A similar service already works in Estonia – Data Tracker. We have studied the experience of our partners and are implementing the best global practices in order to increase the transparency of the state and comply with European data protection standards,” added the department.
