Court leaves Feofaniya hotel complex in ownership of National Academy of Sciences
The Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv, which dismissed the claim of an individual seeking to recognise the ownership of the Feofaniya Hotel at 14-B Metrolohichna Street in Kyiv. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
As a result, the hotel complex with an area of almost 7,000 sq m and a value of over UAH 450 million remained in the ownership of the state, which is represented by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Law enforcement agencies found that in 2022, an individual filed a lawsuit against the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, demanding that the state recognise its ownership of the hotel complex, which, according to the plaintiff, was purchased from the state in 1995.
The individual, being the founder of a private enterprise that had been leasing the property from the state for many years and had been involved in many court cases, including the prosecutor’s claims, was well aware that the disputed hotel complex belonged to the state represented by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
‘Thus, theillegal disposal of the Feofaniya hotel complex from the property of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was prevented,’ the prosecutor’s office said.
