Creditors of bankrupt banks received UAH 1.9 billion this year

During January – September 2024, the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Individuals (FGVFD) paid out a total of UAH 1.9 billion to creditors of banks that are in the process of liquidation. This is stated in notifications of FGVFO.

Of this amount, UAH 81.4 million was directed to satisfy the demands of creditors of the 4th tier, which include individuals and individual entrepreneurs (PPOs), whose contributions exceed the guaranteed amount.
Creditors of the 7th tier, which include legal entities-clients of banks that are not related to banks, received UAH 576.2 million. The rest of the funds were paid to creditors of other ranks in accordance with their order of priority.

In addition, more than UAH 1.0 billion of this amount for the three quarters of 2024 was directed to meeting the requirements of the 3rd stage, which, in particular, includes the Fund’s expenses for the payment of guaranteed compensation to depositors.

In general, as of October 1, 2024, during the period of activity of the FGVFO, banks that are in the process of liquidation have satisfied the demands of creditors in the amount of UAH 70.6 billion. Of this amount, over UAH 18.0 billion was paid to secured creditors. In particular, UAH 16.7 billion was sent to the National Bank of Ukraine, including funds obtained as a result of foreclosure on collateral items and property of guarantors.
