Data on men aged 17 and over will be transferred to the “Oberig” register

From the beginning of next year, the Central Election Commission, the State Migration Service and the Tax Service of Ukraine will begin to transfer data on men aged 17 and over to form the Register of Conscripts “Oberig”.

On the eve of the corresponding law signed President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

According to the new requirements, the data will be transferred for all male citizens of Ukraine who are subject to military registration in accordance with the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service”. The law applies to citizens under the age of 60, with the age of 17 at the time of military registration.

In accordance with the amendments to the law, in order to form the database of the “Oberig” registry, the Central Election Commission, the State Tax Service and the State Migration Service will submit, through electronic interaction, information on all citizens of Ukraine aged 17 to 60 (i.e., surname, tax number, details passports, etc.).

Previously, citizens aged 18 and over were included in the Register of Conscripts. The change in the enlistment age is intended to ensure more prompt tracking and organization of military registration among the youth of Ukraine from the moment of their transition to the status of majority.
